Redbird Redbird flying low Headed south where the winds don’t blow Free to stay in free to go You don’t own and you don’t owe You don’t care about a thing All you do is fly and sing What makes you sing what makes you fly What makes us live and lose and die, Redbird Redbird, Redbird up a loft You never lay awake and tossed Sad and sleepless till the dawn I reckon now she’s truly gone She left me here to weep and wail Shed my tears and tell my tail Left me all alone and blue Left me here to sing to you, Redbird Mr. Redbird tell me true Did you have a sweetheart too Was she wicked was she wild And did she have your soul beguiled Was she fooling from the start Till she tore your life apart Did the one that you love best Steal your joy and your hearts rest, Redbird Redbird Redbird high above You never shed a tear for love Redbird Redbird flying free Look on down and pity me You’re warbling clear and winging high You don’t suffer you don’t sigh You don’t wake and wonder why There you go and here am I Redbird mmm mmm mmm Redbird

You thought you figured it out in school But lately its not the same Cuz when you play by the big kids’ rules It’s a whole different game You step on a crack and take giant steps back Cuz you didn’t say may I before You fell down and you broke your crown You don’t feel like a princess any more And the last one in love is out they say If it’s true- whatcha gonna do? Waiting is easy for true believers Why oh why oh you- Whatcha gonna do? You pointed west to the one you love best You wrote his name on the wall You took a daisy counted yes, no and maybe Till there wasn’t a flower at all But he treated you cold- he kissed and he told He tore the bow from your hair What if he started it- you’re broken hearted It seems like the boys don’t play fair And the last one in love is out they say If it’s true- whatcha gonna do? Waiting is easy for true believers Why oh why oh you/ Whatcha gonna do? Each Jack and each Jill heading up on the hill But you never play in the rain Then when they’re gone put your blindfold back on And count to a million again Rover, red rover, let me come over Gonna cross my heart and die There’s a ring around Rosie’s finger But somehow it’s passing you by Hiding and seeking and no fair peeking Or pick up your heart and go home Maybe you’re it or maybe you’re out But somehow you wind up alone And you’re getting better at sitting it out You just blend in with the wall Staying at home, disconnecting the phone Now you’re not playing at all And the last one in love is out they say If it’s true- whatcha gonna do? Waiting is easy for true believers Why oh why oh you/ Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do?

Listen everybody to what I been told There’s a big bump at the end of the road Heed the little lesson I’m here to unfold Everybody’s gonna hit the bump in the road I said Everybody’s gonna hit the bump in the road/ There’s a big /bump / at the end of the road You’re drivin’ an’ you see somebody needs to be towed Remember all people gonna reap what they sowed Lend a little hand and it’ll lighten their load Before you hit the bump at the end of the road and Everybody’s gonna hit the bump in the road There’s a big bump at the end of the road BRIDGE Early in the morning well I’ll be blowed There’s another sinner going down the road Moving too fast- it’s time he slowed He’s bound to hit the bump at the end of the road People pay attention to the signs you been showed Don’t be living life like you never knowed Gotta give a little more than what you’re owed Before you hit the bump at the end of the road and Everybody’s gonna hit the bump in the road There’s a big bump at the end of the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump So people pay attention to the signs you been showed Try to live your life by the highway code Appreciate the blessings that life has bestowed Before you hit the bump at the end of the road and Everybody’s gonna hit the bump in the road There’s a big bump at the end of the road There’s a big bump at the end of the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump in the road Bump bump bump

One More Folk Thing features 5 great original songs, beautifully performed by this talented and spectacularly diverse duo with accomplished accompanists.

1 How Do I Love You? Fast Old-Timey
Clap along with this happy little bluegrass love song. Lively vocal duet with fiddle, banjo and guitar.
2 Hold On Slowish country/rock
An intimate personal anthem. Plaintive support from guitar, pedal steel, and harmonica.
3 Redbird Medium-tempo Folk/Bluegrass
Another bluegrass-based tune, a strong vocal duet supported by a banjo and fiddle solo.
4 Last One In Love Slow Folk/Classical
With whimsical lyrics drawn from childrens' songs and games, this poignant look at love features a moving cello solo.
5 Big Bump (At The End Of The Road) Medium Folk/Blues
A cautionary tale about paying it forward, this track is a Gospel-feel duet with guitar and harmonica, and a killer Hammond Organ solo
